Yawn!

It’s 10:00PM. Why am I so tired? Probably has to do with this sinus thing I have for the third time in the last month or so. Or that I’m old.
Bergan is doing fantastic. He’s got a nice growth curve going, and he sleeps all night. Last night, he went to bed around 9:30 and woke up around 5:30 to eat. After eating, we played for a little before he took another two hour nap. What can I say? We breed sleepers around here.
Marlee is doing well. She is a brilliant girl. Current accomplishments involve almost staying in the lines while coloring, potty training with only rare accidents, and a clean bill of dental health. We’re currently working on going to bed with naught but a night light. We’re up to 30 minutes now. She actually fell asleep tonight with the overhead off, so we’re hopeful that one will be in the bag soon.
For her weekly reward on her star chart, Marlee chose a trip to the zoo. Sunday is reward day. This Sunday is Mother’s Day. That should be fun.
Now if you’ll excuse me, this old man with his stuffy head and sore back is going to trudge upstairs for the night.
My turn

Going back to work tomorrow after ten days.
I’ll miss the little hooligans.
Happy Zombie Jesus Day!

Or Easter as some folks call it.
Pics of our morning are up in the gallery. They’re at the end of the most recent set. I will get the video off the camera as soon as I can.
We’ve started putting dinner together. 16 oz. ribeye steaks from the House of Meat, with potatoes, homemade cole slaw and of course, deviled eggs. Food coma certainly to follow.
Have a great day everyone!
A Month?!?

Has it really been a month since I was last here? Wow, that was fast.
Kind of a SSDD mode. Bergan is developing nicely, but still mostly eats and sleeps. Marlee is 99% potty trained now, so she has begun to receive all the “rewards” due a fully potty trained little big girl.
Spring break is this week, so I’m on “vacation” and staying home with the two of them. After a rough first day with Marlee, I think we’re all getting along well now. It doesn’t hurt that Berg likes 3-4 hour naps.
General News Update

Bergan is doing well. He sleeps in three or four hour stretches, which we are thankful for. Everything seems to be as it should be.
Leanne developed an infection that has weighed heavily on her for the last week, but seems to be on the upside now.
Marlee is the epitome of behaved and helpful. She has been a wonderful little girl through all this.

1) FYI: there is a comment filter on the blog. You wouldn’t believe the amount of spam I have to delete. If your comment doesn’t show immediately, this is probably why, and I will approve it shortly. Your patience (and presence) is greatly appreciated.
2) New gallery. I will likely move all family pictures here: http://huckaby.us/Gallery
All is well

Wow! What a different experience the second time around. From the pregnancy to labor and delivery to just our level of anxiety. It’s all so very different. Bergan and I came home Friday and are both doing well. He mostly eats and sleeps but he is spending more time awake and alert each day. He is a good eater and I will be interested to see what he weighs at his doctor’s appointment tomorrow. He was 7lbs 14oz at birth and 7lbs 1 o when we left the hospital. He has been a very good baby so far. Marlee is adjusting to her new role as the Big Sister very well and looks for any opportunity to help. She even fed him his first bottle yesterday. She was very excited about that and asked me today if she could do it again. Ian and I are both tired but are rapidly developing and falling into a routine as well as our current roles in a multiple child family. Thank you immensely to Grandma and Grandpa D who were able to come into town and spend a few days with Marlee. She loved having you and it was a wonderful relief to know that she was in good hands and getting all the attention she could ever want. Thank you also to all well wishers. It is so nice to know that so many people care. Well, that’s about all for now. My two favorite guys are passed out on the couch and Marlee is in bed so I suppose I ought to find a little shut eye myself before the next feeding.

Bergan Michael Huckaby was born very quickly and easily at 10:47AM on February 18, 2009. 7 lbs. 14 oz. and 21″ long.
Mom and Bergan are healthy, if tired. Grandma and Grandpa Dadd are here and taking care of Marlee for us.
(Clicking the picture will land you in the directory with more. Sorry, working on something better, but I have other things on my mind right now.)

Went home early yesterday due to contractions, but forced to maintain the holding pattern.
Leanne nor I slept much last night, so the fireworks will likely start tonight, just to make sure we’re both exhausted going into the exhausting proceedings.
Really, anyone want a computer desk or two?
